SFTC Australian Basic Military Training Handbook
TRAINEE/TRAINER INTRODUCTIONS:
You will introduce yourself “Hello, I’m (Rank), (name) and (position in SFTC), and you will call me by my (Rank) or (Sir / Ma’am)
Is that clear? (also introduce anyone assisting you)
I’ll be your host today. You are here as a team not as an individual and you will work together throughout this training. When you request to speak you will say “Permission to speak, (rank) or (Sir / Ma’am). You will respect me, your other trainees and anyone else involved with this tryout. Is that clear?
Begin the Main Training by notifying the recruits of these three things
Purpose:
Motivate and inspire the newest recruits of the Regiment. Indoctrination into the community and preparation for entrance into the greater group.
Summary:
Trainee/Trainer Introductions, Regiment History and Purpose, Rules for training, Smoking/Punishment. Drill, Unit explanations/Mottos, Basic Combat/Maneuver Drills, Teamwork phase (grinder), Graduation
End State:
Newly indoctrinated members of the Regiment come into the group prepared to contribute and make a difference for the community.
REGIMENT HISTORY/PURPOSE:
>Regiment was founded 8/19/16, while the current SASR community was founded 10/10/17.
>Generation 1 Began in EAF and ended on Jan 19, 2018 with the Launch of EAF
>Generation 2 Began in SASR on June 22, 2018 with the purchase of the Group
>Generation 3 is from June 23, 2018 to this present day

>Talk about someone in the Regiment you personally look up to
>Explain our stance on doxxing and attacks outside of the Game
>Explain the mission of the Regiment to better the Modern Military Community
RULES FOR TRAINING:
Establish the following rules for training:
1) Say Permission to Speak prior to speaking
2) Use Grammar at all times when on duty
3) Treat all members of the Regiment with respect
4) Establish Customs and Courtesies
SMOKING/PUNISHMENT:
Test the members of the training of their memorization of the information you’ve just tested them on until they fail.
Instill that failing as individual means that the team let them down, instruct them in how to perform the following, then proceed to lead them in 3 rounds of each:
1) Grammar Jacks
2) Hell Jacks
3) Froggers
DRILL:
You will then start off with turns. Trainees are expected to do these swiftly and correctly. You’re required to use a three strike system during this stage. If they get to three they are to fall out.

Left Turn — Turn Left 90 Degrees
Right Turn — Turn Right 90 Degrees
Left Incline — Turn Left 45 Degrees
Right Incline — Turn Right 45 Degrees
About Turn — Turn 180 Degrees
Eyes Front/Center Turn — Face the front
Safechat-Proof Turn Commands
Left Turn — Turn Left Gear: 90 Degrees
Right Turn — Turn Right Gear: 90 Degrees
Left Incline — Turn Left Gear: 45 Degrees
Right Incline — Turn Right Gear: 45 Degrees
About Turn — Turn Gear: 180 Degrees

BASIC COMBAT/MANEUVER DRILLS:
Teach the recruits three battle drills:
1) Frontal Assault
2) Flank
3) Leapfrog Retreat
TEAMWORK PHASE (GRINDER)
Put the recruits through the obby in a timed manner, vary the time depending on the quality of the class.
Be sure to emphasize constant motivation as the object of the test, with their success relying on their ability to motivate and encourage one another.
The time the last participant finishes is the time the drill ends.
STANDARDS FOR GRADUATION:
- Recruit can properly name every division of SASR and it’s purpose
- Recruit can properly execute all facing movements
- Recruit can recite the Regiment motto
- Recruit can recite the motto of at least one Division
- Recruit has completed all portions of Basic Training Successfully
GRADUATION:
All recruits form up,
The training staff deliver a speech, reinforcing what is taught during the training.
A HIGHCOM member will attend and conduct promotions and any administrative work necessary to complete the training.
